The christian imperative can be summed up in “walk in the Spirit” (Gal 5:25), but that does not tell us about the content of this walk.
We must now consider the formal content of the imperative in Paul, in order to see the unity and coherence, as well as the distinctive characteristics, of his view of the demand to which Christians are subject by reason of their ‘having life by the Spirit’ (Gal 5:25a).p.85
Although Paul never gives an exhaustive list of Christian obligations, there are some frequently occurring motifs.
We shall see, in fact, that for Paul both the unifying principle and the proprium of christian morality derive precisely from the fact that Christians for the New Covenant People of God.p.86
