1 Peter: “Living in the Light of Heaven”

1. Greeting [1:1-2]

1. From Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,
   to the chosen ones, exiles dispersed throughout
   Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, the province of Asia, and Bithynia,

2. according to the foreknowledge of God the Father
   being set apart by the Spirit
   for the purpose of obedience to Jesus Christ, sprinkled with his blood.
   May grace and peace be yours in full measure!

• Notice the Trinity
  • Nowhere in the New Testament is the word “Trinity” used, but the concept is everywhere.
• What does it mean that God chose us?
  • does it make us robots?
